‘Treason’: Congress politician Ajay Maken criticizes Arvind Kejriwal for his comments on ‘Yamuna poison

The ex-union minister seeks an investigation into the remarks made by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in Haryana and Kejriwal.
“If Arvind Kejriwal is deceiving about contaminating the water with poison, it constitutes betrayal.” If the government of Haryana is at fault, measures ought to be implemented. “At a news conference, Maken declared, “If Arvind Kejriwal is spreading lies, he should be held accountable.”
Maken’s comments were made following Kejriwal’s statement on Monday, where he claimed that Delhi’s water supply had been “contaminated” and accused the Haryana government of orchestrating a “genocide” against the residents of Delhi.
The comments have sparked a controversy in the national capital and in nearby Haryana, where CM Nayab Singh Saini has threatened to take legal action against the AAP leader. Conversely, the CEO of the Delhi Jal Board sent a letter to the chief secretary stating that Arvind Kejriwal’s comments were ‘factually inaccurate’ and ‘groundless’.
Ajay Maken claims that only Congress is capable of challenging the BJP.
Ajay Maken commented on the backing provided by Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Akhilesh Yadav and other INDIA bloc parties to AAP and Arvind Kejriwal before the Delhi Assembly elections.
He urged the INDIA bloc partners to acknowledge that only Congress could successfully combat the BJP and stressed that they should not undermine the party.
The Congress, which was in power in Delhi for 15 straight years, has encountered significant defeats in the last two assembly elections, not securing any seats. In comparison, AAP controlled the assembly elections in 2015 and 2020, winning 67 and 62 seats, respectively, out of 70, whereas BJP managed to secure only three and eight seats in these contests.
The Delhi Assembly elections will take place on February 5 and the results will be tallied on February 8. For the 70 assembly seats in the nation’s capital, 699 persons are running.
