Dehradun News: Rain alert in the state from June 27, caution advised during Chardham Yatra
The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast for the next one week and issued an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain in various districts from June 27 to 29 and July 2 and 3. While today (Thursday), heavy to very heavy rain has been predicted in some parts of Champawat and Nainital districts (Orange) and heavy rain has been predicted in Dehradun, Pauri, Bageshwar and Udham Singh Nagar (Yellow Alert). During this time, the administration has been advised to be extra cautious in view of the Chardham Yatra. On the other hand, 6.6 mm of rain in the capital on Wednesday brought relief from the humid heat for some time.

According to the information released by the Director of Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, an orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rains in various districts of the state from June 27 to 29 and July 2 and 3. While a heavy rain warning has been issued on June 30 and July 1. During this time, winds are expected to blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. During this time, there will be a possibility of debris and stones falling in landslide-affected areas due to rain. Therefore, it has been advised not to travel in landslide-affected areas. Along with this, the administration has been advised to take extra precautions on the Chardham Yatra route.
On Wednesday, heavy rains occurred in various parts of Dehradun during the afternoon. 6.6 mm of rain occurred at different places between 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm. Due to rain in various areas including Rajpur Road, Clementtown, Patelnagar, ISBT, Premnagar, the roads were waterlogged. Due to which drivers faced problems due to mud at many places. Due to the rain, there was relief from the heat that was going on since morning. However, after the rain stopped, the sun came out.
